A Day in the Life of Balancing Keywords and Coffee
Hey everyone, how’s it going?
Apologies for being MIA since my last blog. Today, I want to give you a glimpse into my life as an SEO analyst at Zinai Digital, a Digital Marketing Agency in Kochin. Here, we’re more than just colleagues; we’re like a big family, and I absolutely love the vibe.
So, let’s dive into my day. I usually kickstart my morning around 6:30 am with my usual routine, followed by a quick workout session and a refreshing shower. Breakfast today was a delicious serving of Dosa and Sambar.
I log into my laptop by 9:00 am sharp. Our work hours span from 9 am to 6 pm, giving us 8 hours a day, plus a flexible lunch break. The first thing on my agenda is firing up the tracker, which records our activities and screen time. It takes screenshots every 10 minutes and tracks mouse movements to gauge our productivity.
Next, I hop on Skype and switch my status to Active, and we exchange morning greetings in our company group chat, which feels like our virtual attendance register.
Then it’s onto the important stuff – checking emails and messages from clients on WhatsApp to stay updated on project statuses. After that, I lay out the tasks for the day for each project.
I also keep an eye on the metrics of each project, making adjustments if any project isn’t performing as expected.
Task planning done, I update our data storage software’s backlog accordingly, moving tasks from backlog to “In Progress” as I tackle them and eventually to “Done” upon completion.
We have a team call at 9:30 am to touch base on our progress, share updates, and address any questions or concerns.
My day to day tasks include competitor analysis, keyword research, proposed on page & mapping, proposed on – page implementation, content plan, blog topic research, footer optimization, keyword ranking setup, image optimization, error fixing & basics, page speed optimizations, monitoring search results, and reporting. It’s a comprehensive list, but it’s all in a day’s work for an SEO analyst.

Working from home allows me to multitask, so I snack, sip on juices, and even chat with colleagues like Subash or Aswin when I need a break.
Client calls or group texts require immediate attention, and if it’s a meeting, I create a presentation based on my tasks and present it to the client.
Lunchtime usually falls around 1 pm, and I take a short break to enjoy my meal and catch up on some entertainment before diving back into work.
By evening, I’ve usually wrapped up most of my tasks, thanks to minimal pending work.
Now, onto the fun part – our weekly house programs! Last time it was conducted by my team, and today it’s the Blue House, while in the games, there was an unexpected quiz from our MD. Guess who nailed the tough SEO question and walked away with some extra cash? Yep, yours truly!
After wrapping up work and the house program, I unwind with a shower and spend some quality time with my cousin’s baby, spreading joy with chocolates and candies.
And here I am, typing this blog in my notes before calling it a night. Stay tuned for more topics coming your way. Take care, and remember, Sana loves you all🫂
Bye for now!🤍
